Show Rules & Information

1. The show is held in accordance with the rules of the VHSA Associate Program.

2. Divisions are $45.  Warm up $20  

3. Closing date is Nov 1.  Entry forms must be post marked no later than Nov. 1

4. Stalls are available at cost of $20 for the day, requests must be included with entry form.  Bedding is supplied.

5. Entry fees must accompany entry form.  Open checks will not be permitted.

6. Entry forms may be found online and may be email and must be time stamped by Nov 1.

   Fees are due no later than Nov 1.

7. There will be a $5 office fee for incomplete entries.

8. ECHSA is not responsible entries or fees not received prior to day of show

9. We reserve the right to refuse any entry, to ban any person or animal from the show grounds, to change the time schedule, to combine classes or change the judge at any time.

10. Please make checks payable to ECHSA.

11. Six ribbons will be awarded for division including Championship and Reserve.

12. Approved protective headgear must be worn at all times while mounted on show grounds.

13. The Judge's decision is final.

14. Horse Show Management's decisions concerning any aspect of the horse show will be final.

15. All dogs must be on a leash at all times and away from the courses.

16. Cell phones must be on vibrate mode or turned off and are not permitted inside the show ring.

17. Schooling must be supervised by trainer and/or adult.

18. After 3 refusals, exhibitor is required to exit the ring.

19. Jumper competitors may inspect the course on foot prior to the commencement of the jumper class.

20. All ties, other than for 1st place, will remain tied with ribbons and points to be awarded accordingly.  This includes the Champion and Reserve Awards.

    1. Jumper competitors who are tied for other than first place will be placed according to the time taken to complete the course.

21. You must send in a legible copy of your current Coggins and it must show Negative or you will not be admitted to the show grounds per VA Law.  If the copy is not legible, it will not be accepted.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

Condition of Entry: Participants realize and accept the inherent risks of equine activities.  Every horse entered for competition will be under the control of Show Management but Management will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Show, the Management, and the Facility harmless for any loss or accident to his or her horse, horses, or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire or otherwise.

Management reserves the right to interpret all questions and conditions in regards to or arising out of an incident at the show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind.  All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by Management, and their decision is final.  Management reserves the right to cancel or combine classes or to reschedule classes. Discourtesy to an official by any spectator, rider, trainer or groom will disqualify the horse or horses with which they are associated and all fees are forfeited.

East Coast Horse Show Association scoring for this event:

1st = 10pts  2nd = 6pts   3rd = 4pts  4th = 2pt  5th = 1  6th = .5 

Champion will receive an additional 10 points and Reserve Champion an additional 6.

Show Fees

Show fees, including entry fees and stall fees, must be postmarked  no later than Nov. 1.

We do accept checks, Visa and Master Card.

If you are paying by credit card, please call it in at 757-270-5228 no later than Nov 1.

$20 for each show day/$25 for each over night

You will need to provide your own feed.  Hay is available for a nominal fee.

There is an automatic heated watering system in all stalls.

ECETC facilities include:

7 wash stalls with hot/cold running water,
